GAC Communique - Dakar

Please find the Dakar Communique from the Governmental Advisory Committee of ICANN at their meeting in Dakar in October 2011. Section three addresses the urgent need for ICANN to implement recommendations received by Law Enforcement Agencies in helping address Cybercrime Activity.

“As a complement to the June exchanges in Singapore, the GAC urged the Board to support actions necessary to implement those recommendations as a matter of urgency.

“The GAC therefore advises the ICANN Board to take the necessary steps to ensure that ICANN’s multistakeholder process effectively addresses the GAC-endorsed proposals as a matter of urgency.”
