Inaugural CCI Steering Group Meeting

The first Steering Group Meeting of the Commonwealth Cybercrime Initiative has been convened for the 28th of February 2012, at Marlborough House, London. At their first Meeting in January, the Interim Managememt Board for the CCI agreed to convene the inaugural Steering Group Meeting this month to further progress the Initiative into implementation with requests for assistance from Member countries across the Commonwealth having already been received.
Representations from the Partners organisations to the Initiative are expected to participate and these include representations from: Commonwealth Secretariat, AT&T, Centre for Internet Safety at the University of Canberra, Children’s Charities’ Coalition on Internet Safety, Commonwealth Parliamentarian’s Association, Commonwealth’s Business Council, Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation, Council of Europe, Cyber Ethics Cyprus, Diplo Foundation, Institute for Security Studies Africa, European NGO alliance on child safety online, International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children, International Cyber Security Protection Alliance, International Telecommuncation Union, International Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, Interpol, Serious Organised Crime Agency, and United Nations Office for Drugs and Crime.
The Steering Group will be chaired by Ms. Alice Munyua from the Government of Kenya and the Chair of the 2011 Internet Governance Forum Meeting which took place last September in Nairobi.
